Ceramic implantology: Current trends and limitations
The “Ceramic implantology: Current trends and limitations” is a workshop that entails 8 CE hours. It consists of lecturing, LIVE patient demonstration, and hands-on practice on PIG JAWS. The course is a highly evidence-based workshop co-presented by Dr. Noumbissi, President of the International Association of Ceramic Implantology, and Dr. Proussaefs, prosthodontist,Associate Professor at Loma Linda University.

Speakers
Dr. Sammy Noumbissi
Dr. Nombissi is the President of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology. He earned a certificate in Implant Dentistry in 2002 and a Masters of Science in Implant Surgery in 2005. He is a published author and has been on the Editorial Board on many scientific journals as well. Dr. Noumbissi has been lecturing Nationally and Internationally on topics related to ceramic implantology. He is considered one of the ambassadors and world leaders in ceramic implantology.
Dr. Periklis Proussaefs DDS, MS
Dr. Proussaefs is a prosthodontist and Associate Professor at Loma Linda University. He is the founder of the California Institute of Dental Education. He has published over 55 peer-reviewed articles related to implant and prosthetic dentistry. Dr Proussaefs has been editorial board member in several scientific journals with high impact factor. His seminars have an evidence-based approach enriched with his 20+ years of experience in advanced implant dentistry.
Course objectives
- Get Familiar with ceramic Implantology
- Understand the rationale for using zirconia as an implant material
- Review current literature on ceramic implantology
- Know the advantages and limitations of using ceramic implants
- Review restorative options and treatment solutions when using ceramic implants
- Discuss ceramic implantology with Dr. Noumbissi, the founder and president of the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology
- Obtain HANDS-ON experience by placing CERAMIC IMPLANTS ON PIG JAWS.
- Observe placement of ceramic implants on LIVE PATIENT DEMONSTRATION
- Obtain insight on selecting patient candidates for ceramic implant placement
