Dr Marinic has had a mercury free holistic dental practice since 1987. Working together with allopathic physicians, naturopaths, chiropractors and other integrative care professionals to provide a holistic approach to patient care. Using minimally invasive techniques that respect the patients tissue is possible by using sound biological principles.

In 2007 Dr. Marinic developed training materials to teach other dentists the principles of guided dental implant placement. Hs is currently working with a Ceramic Dental Implant manufacturer to simplify the planning and placement protocols for Guided Dental Implant Surgery.

Dr. Marinic is a member of the following organizations:

International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IADBM), Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentists, Master of the Prosthetic Division of the International Academy of Oral Implantologists.   He is a graduate of ‘s Maxicourse Dental Implantology  program.

SAFE MERCURY REMOVAL :

SMART Certified

There is a consensus with the CDC, NIH, WHO and ADA that the placement or removal of dental restorations that contain mercury result in elevated amounts of mercury in the blood and urine. Mercury is a toxic substance that has no minimal safe amounts for humans.  The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) has developed protocols  to promote mercury-free, mercury-safe, and biological/biocompatible dentistry.

In to minimize the exposure to mercury vapor  when amalgam fillings are removed,  the IAOMT has developed a  process of drilling out amalgam fillings that minimizes patient and staff exposure when the mercury  liberates quantities of mercury vapor and fine particulates that can be inhaled and absorbed through the lungs. (In fact, the IAOMT does not recommend that pregnant women have their amalgams removed.)

CERAMIC RESTORATIONS :

Lifelike Ceramic Restorations

CERAMIC RESTORATIONSAll-ceramic crowns  and restorations are more biocompatible than traditional dental materials. Often the  result is so lifelike that the restoration it is difficult to distinguish from a natural tooth!  Plus, there is  no need to worry about dark metal bands forming around the over time. There are ceramic materials that are strong enough to be used for bridges as well.

Often a minimally invasive procedure known as an inlay or onlay can be fabricated from ceramics. Although they have the same durability as crowns, they require minimal tooth removal.  Unlike fillings, ceramics add strength to the tooth and are much stronger. Generally if there is 1/4 to 1/3 of a tooth missing a conservative alternative to a crown may by an option .

LASER DENTISTRY :

LASER DENTISTRYCold Sore Treatment

Cold sores are treated in a non contact mode. The entire treatment takes less than five minutes. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the virus and destroyed. The procedure is most effective during the prodromal phase. This is when the viruses are rabidly multiplying and are most vulnerable to the effect of the laser.  Patients describe this as a “prickly feeling” prior to the actual outbreak.

The procedure is noninvasive and painless. No anesthetic is required. If the virus is treated during the prodromal phase the lesion often never returns in the specific site. If the lesion is already present, the duration and discomfort is reduced.
