Dr. Fredda Rosenbaum graduated from Barnard College in 1976 and earned her DDS from NYU’s College of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 1982. She is a certified member of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM) and an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).

Dr. Rosenbaum was inspired to become a dentist because of her own journey with dental challenges, which began as a small child. After graduating from Barnard, she decided to face her childhood fears by becoming a dentist.

“I was six years old when my I had my first toothache. My teeth were decayed, lost, dead, spotted – a mess. But dentists saved my smile. I have a true understanding of what my patients go through and a deep respect when they gather the courage to come in and change their dental health for the better. By the time I finished dental school, I had developed a profound respect for what those doctors had accomplished in my youthful mouth. ”

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of a face. Even the most subtle change in it can make a dramatic difference in the way you look and feel.

You no longer have to settle for stained, chipped, or misshaped teeth. You have choices that can help you smile with confidence.

BONDING

Composite tooth bonding uses materials that match the shade, translucency, and texture of your teeth to create a more aesthetic smile. Gaps between teeth can be closed. Spots, chips, and discolorations can be eliminated. Your self-confidence can be enhanced.

First, we prepare the tooth by roughing the area to be repaired then etching the surface with a gel. A treatment of primers and resins is applied to the tooth, followed by the composite, which we sculpt to the proper shape. The pigments are matched to your tooth and often applied in several layers to duplicate the depth of color that occurs in a natural tooth. The composite is hardened with a high-intensity curing light.

With careful artistry, this composite can be manipulated to mimic the color details and translucency of your tooth, and polished to a beautiful shine. It is excellent for small defects in the teeth, but for smile alterations involving whole or multiple teeth, porcelain is the material of choice.
