Dr. April Patterson, known as Dr. Patty, is a highly trained and experienced South Florida cosmetic and restorative dentist.

Dr. April Patterson, more affectionately known as Dr. Patty, a Florida native, is on a mission to change the negative stereotypes associated with the dental chair.  In 2012, she created the ultimate pampering experience based on the principles of “relaxation” dentistry.  The result is the chic, client-focused, comfort-conscious Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique nestled in East Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Patty, a highly trained and world-class expert cosmetic dentist, obtained her undergrad degree at Florida State University, with a B.S. in Biology. She went on to attend and complete Dental School at the University of Michigan to obtain a DDS. In addition, she completed her Residency at the University of Michigan. Dr. Patty has also trained extensively with some of the most respected cosmetic dental specialists in the industry at well-recognized institutions.

Dr. Patty has successfully carved a niche in the cosmetic dental industry with an all-encompassing approach to dentistry and aesthetics which couples veneers, cosmetic braces, IV Sedation and smile makeovers with rejuvenating facial fillers such as Juvaderm and Radiesse, along with neurotoxins such as Botox and dysport. Her boutique also boasts a full-service spa with massages and facials along with a lash and brow bar.

She is dedicated to state-of-the-art dental technologies and prides herself on being at the forefront of the latest technology and research to provide clients with the best, one-on-one dental care. A national publication, iPhone Life magazine profiled Dr. Patty for her innovative use of Apple technology in her state-of-the-art dental office. Her latest addition to her boutique is the CERAC Omnicam, the latest CAD/CAM system which allows her to take 3D impressions and mill patients’ individual all-ceramic restorations in one single appointment.

The producers at ABC’s “Good Morning America” were so intrigued by Dr. Patty’s “dental spa” concept; they flew reporter Bianna Golodryga and a cameraman down to Florida to caption all the action for a national TV segment.  Local press has been just as fascinated and Dr. Patty has appeared on numerous TV segments with Fox, CBS, CW and ABC.  In addition, Dr. Patty’s Dental Spa has been featured in numerous local newspapers and magazines and Gold Coast magazine profiled her as one of their “40 Under 40”celebrating leadership and excellence among Broward County’s young professionals.

Dr. Patty routinely donates time, money and resources to a variety of local non-profit organizations including Women in Distress of Broward County, Humane Society of Broward County and the Museum of Discovery and Science.

In 2013, Dr. Patty was recognized by the March of Dimes as one of 10 Women of Distinction and presented with a very special award at a private luncheon. In addition, she raised almost $5,200 in donations for the charity event. The recipients of this prestigious award were chosen based on their outstanding achievements both professionally and through their philanthropic endeavors.

In 2013, Dr. Patty was nominated as of one of the 100 Most Outstanding Women of Broward County presented by the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.    Each year, the 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County event showcases and celebrates the accomplishments of women who have impacted Broward’s business, community and philanthropic fields.

In 2014 Dr. Patty set out to share her incredible wealth of talent, knowledge, and skills with other practitioners through the launch of a second company, Elite Facial Aesthetics Training Company. Elite is a professional school that features workshops across the country and Canada that teaches doctors, dentists and nurses how to inject facial fillers, Botox and other aesthetic services on live models and also how to grow their practice through the added revenue stream of these products. Dr. Patty consults dentists and physicians, one on one, on opening a boutique practice from scratch, from A-Z, and on how to upgrade a current practice to become a boutique practice.

Dr. Patty enjoys serving as a passionate role model for other young, female entrepreneurs.  She is often called upon to provide advice and guidance to other dentists and dental students who see her as revolutionizing the dental industry with her popular and profitable dental spa concept.

A great alternative to dentures, dental implants can restore a client’s smile with a tooth that both looks and feels natural.

dental-implant-diagramRegardless of why the tooth was lost, decay, gum disease, injury, congenital defects, or any other reason, dental implants make it possible for clients to get their natural-looking smile back. A superior alternative to bridges and other removable products, dental implants provide a longer-lasting and durable replacement to missing teeth because they are custom designed for each client as a permanent part of the mouth.

Categorized as a form of cosmetic dentistry, dental implants provide clients with the strength and stability required to eat all the foods they love, without struggling to chew. Additionally, dental implants stimulate and maintain jaw bone, preventing bone loss and helping to maintain facial features.

To determine if implants are right for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Patty. She can thoroughly examine teeth and gums to evaluate bone density and quantity. This may involve X-rays and computer tomography scans (CT scans) to ensure there is sufficient bone structure for placing the implant(s) and to determine exactly where the implant should be placed.

Based on the condition of oral tissues, oral hygiene and personal habits, and commitment to follow aftercare instructions, Dr. Patty will advise you of the most appropriate dental implant treatment plan.

Dental Implants :

If you have missing teeth, a dental implant can change your life for the better! This implant is a surgical fixture that will be placed in your jawbone and will fuse with the bone within a couple of months. Your implant will become a replacement for your missing tooth or can even be used to secure a bridge or hold a replacement tooth in place. If you are embarrassed with your missing tooth, Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa can help. This implant is made of titanium, which will allow it to integrate with your bone so that it will not be rejected or perceived as a foreign object within your body.

With technology rapidly advancing and improvements constantly being made, the success rate of these implants is close to 98% when you choose to experience a personalized treatment plan for your dental work at Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa.

When Would You Need Dental Implants?

dental-filling-in-fort-lauderdale-300x199The primary function of an implant is to replace any missing teeth that you may currently have. A dental implant can be used to replace one tooth, several teeth, or even all your teeth.

When you receive these implants, the goal is to replace your teeth, restore their function, and aesthetics. If you have teeth that need to be replaced, you will have three options to choose from:

  • Full or partial dentures, which are removable dental appliances
  • Dental bridge, which is cemented in place
  • Dental implant

Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa will be able to help you choose the option that will work best for you, fit into your lifestyle, and help you get your confidence back.

Would Dental Implants Be Right For Your Situation?

When you are trying to decide if an implant is best for your situation, you will need to take several factors into account such as:

  • Your current health
  • Cost
  • Location of your missing teeth, or tooth
  • Quality as well as quantity of jawbone where the implant will be placed

At Dr. Patty’s Dental Boutique & Spa, we will examine the area that your dental implant will be needed and will make a clinical assessment to diagnose your current conditions and see if you are a good candidate for this procedure that can change your life.

Advantages of Dental Implants :

There are multiple benefits to receiving an implant when replacing a tooth with other available options. First, your implant will replace your missing teeth without affecting or changing other teeth in the area. Second, your implant will integrate into your jawbone which will allow you to have the look and feel of a natural tooth in your mouth. No one will ever notice it isn’t your real tooth!

Types of Implants :

You will receive an endosteal implant at Dr. Patty’s Boutique & Spa. This is an implant that is placed into the bone and is considered a high-quality implant that offers long-term results.
