Dr. Chris Gordon, DMD

Dr. Christopher Gordon graduated from the College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2004. He continued to complete a 3-year residency in the ADA-recognized specialty of Prosthodontics and received a Certificate in Prosthodontics from Nova Southeastern University in 2007. He has extensive training in full-mouth reconstruction and implant dentistry and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry.   Since he’s a Prosthodontist, he can treat very complex restorative cases.  Lucky enough to have been raised in a family of dentists,  watching both his father and grandfather practice dentistry instilled in him both the values of hard work and compassion at a young age.

Dental Implants

Standard dentures are unsecured prostheses with inherent limitations. Most often, dentures are painful, inconvenient and unstable. Such dentures can make chewing foods difficult, limiting the foods that you once enjoyed. Modern dentistry can help with implant supported dentures.

The Implant Supported Overdenture treatment concept replaces your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported by dental implants. Fewer implants are needed and overall treatment time and cost is reduced. An Implant Supported Overdenture solution also ensures greater stability in the bone, reducing the need for bone graft surgery to increase bone volume. Implant-supported overdentures stay connected with bar and clip attachment methods or use a variety of abutment-based attachments (ball, magnets, and resilient stud attachments such as Locators). The most appropriate attachment system for your individual needs relates to a variety of factors that is determined early in the treatment. Typically, a temporary set of teeth can be placed on the same day of surgery. The temporary teeth allow you to lead a normal life immediately after surgery. DENTAL PROPHYLAXIS

A dental prophylaxis is a cleaning treatment performed to thoroughly clean the teeth and gums. Dental prophylaxis is an important dental treatment for stopping the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease.

Dental prophylaxis is an effective procedure in keeping the oral cavity in proper health and halting the progression of gum disease.

THE BENEFITS OF PROFESSIONAL TEETH CLEANING INCLUDE:

• Plaque removal. Tartar (also referred to as calculus) and plaque buildup, both above and below the gum line, can result in serious periodontal problems. Unfortunately, even with a proper home brushing and flossing routine, it can be impossible to remove all debris, bacteria and deposits from gum pockets. The experienced eye of a dentist or hygienist using specialized dental equipment is necessary to catch potentially damaging buildup.
• A healthier looking smile. Stained and yellowed teeth can dramatically decrease the esthetics of a smile. Prophylaxis is an effective treatment in ridding the teeth of these unsightly stains.

Professional dental cleaning can be performed at our office. We recommend that prophylaxis be performed twice annually as a preventative measure, but should be completed every 3-4 months for periodontitis sufferers. It should be noted that gum disease cannot be completely reversed, but dental prophylaxis is one of the tools Dr. Christopher Gordon and Dr. Danielle Gordon can use to effectively halt its progression.
