Dental Implants :

For patients with broken, missing, or failing teeth, dental implants are a long-lasting, cost-effective, and fully functional tooth replacement with gorgeous, lifelike results. A single dental implant has three parts: a titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jaw bone, an abutment piece that is used to connect the implant to a custom-made crown, and the crown itself, which is designed to match your existing teeth perfectly. A completed dental implant will restore your smile for many years—and they are incredibly versatile as they can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or as part of the W-4 Implant Solution® to replace one or two arches of a patient’s teeth in a single procedure. If properly cared for, the natural appearance and function of an implant can last for many years!

Dr. Winterholler is highly trained to beautifully restore teeth with dental implants in the comfort of our two Central Arizona practice locations. We are the only fully digital workflow office in Arizona to create your new smile. We design and create your new smile in our office and in house laboratory using top technology, ensuring our implant patients receive the highest quality of care and superior esthetic results. Because we have our own laboratory using top dental laboratory technicians, our implant patients can often receive their implants and their custom crowns in a single day.

We offer a full range of options, from standard dental implants to zygomatic implants that allow patients with advanced bone loss to receive successful dental implant treatment. During your consultation, we will be happy to discuss the best tooth replacement solution for your specific case as well as the IV anesthesia and sedation options available to you for your complete comfort. Our team uses Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) for 3D diagnostic images that ensure efficient procedures and optimal results with the lowest level of radiation possible.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Our dental implant patients enjoy the renewed ability to eat the foods they love and smile with confidence again, as well as improved oral health. Furthermore, while traditional dentures and bridges only last a few years before they need to be replaced, dental implants can last a lifetime with good oral care, and no healthy teeth are damaged to secure them in your mouth.

For more on the benefits of investing in dental implants to rejuvenate and restore your smile, listen to Patient Stories from some of our delighted patients.

Dental implants offer these benefits and more:

  • A long-term solution. Since the implant post fuses with the jaw bone, dental implant patients enjoy a permanent and realistic tooth replacement. Most traditional methods, such as tooth-supported dental bridges, offer patients a solution for missing teeth for only a few years. With good oral hygiene, a dental implant will last for many years to come.
  • Easy maintenance. Dental implants don’t require any specific or special care. You may clean your dental implants just as you would your natural teeth. It’s that simple.
  • Most like healthy, natural teeth. Smile with confidence! Dental implants blend seamlessly with your smile because they look, feel, and function exactly like natural teeth—you may even forget that you have received a tooth restoration. Since dental implants are anchored into your mouth permanently, you will not have to worry that your replacement tooth or teeth will fall out or loosen during your everyday activities.
  • Retain natural facial aesthetics. Dental implants are inserted into the jaw bone just like the roots of natural teeth, so patients can avoid the shrunken or sagging appearance that can happen over time when teeth are missing.
  • Versatile. Dental implants can comfortably and realistically replace one or multiple missing teeth or even an entire arch of teeth in one or both arches with the W-4 Implant Solution.

We pride ourselves on the safety and quality of our work restoring the smiles of our patients with high-quality, custom dental implant treatment. Our dentists have years of experience delivering the best restorative options for our patient’s needs.

Q What are dental implants?

Patients considering dental implants often ask us how dental implants work. Dental implants are a successful, long-term, and popular tooth restoration solution because of their unique design that emulates the structure of a natural tooth. The three parts of an implant consists of a small post, most often made of titanium, that replaces the root of your missing tooth; a connector piece called an abutment that is placed on the top of the dental implant to anchor the custom-made crown; and the crown itself that is created to match seamlessly with your natural teeth.

Q How much do dental implants cost?

The first step to receiving an accurate estimate of your dental implant cost at our Scottsdale, AZ, and Payson, AZ, offices is to request a consultation appointment with Dr. Winterholler. At this appointment, 3D digital diagnostic scans will be taken of your oral structures to help create a customized treatment plan for you that will also include your cost estimate.

Q How long does it take to get a dental implant?

The time it takes to receive implants depends on many factors, including the state of your oral health, if you are receiving one or many implants or are receiving a dental implant-supported denture or bridge. During your consultation appointment with Dr. Winterholler, you will have a complete oral exam, including all the necessary diagnostic images, and at that point, the estimated amount of time it will take to complete your restoration will be determined. Sometimes patients can receive their completed implant in just one day!

Q Is the dental implant procedure painful?

It’s normal to have some discomfort during your recovery time, but our team does everything in its power to keep you as comfortable and safe as possible along every step of your treatment. We offer many options for anesthesia, and Dr. Winterholler is trained to place dental implants with great accuracy for the least invasive procedure possible with the least amount downtime. You will receive detailed aftercare and post-surgical instructions before your treatment, as well as prescriptions to control any post-operative discomfort you may have. Rest assured, you’re in the best hands with Dr. Winterholler and the top-notch clinical team at Winterholler Dental Implants & Cosmetic Dentistry.

Q I have bone loss in my jaw. Can I still have dental implants?

Bone loss in the jaw can make dental implants harder to place securely, but even our patients with significant bone loss can often be candidates for successful implants without the need for bone grafting. With revolutionary dental implant techniques and technology, Dr. Winterholler can offer you several options. In some cases, the best course of treatment is to have a bone graft placed in areas where an implant is going to be inserted to ensure that your dental implant has a stable foundation for long-term stability. If you are looking for a second opinion on dental implants, feel free to contact our practice today.

Q What is the recovery like after dental implant placement?

Healing will take a few weeks because the implant post must successfully fuse with the bone in your jaw for stable placement. During this time, it is important to stick to a diet of soft foods and then avoid chewing on the implant sites until your healing period is complete. Dr. Winterholler will carefully review every detail of your instructions for aftercare before your treatment begins, including medications for the management of any post-operative discomfort, and the estimated timeline for your recovery period.

Friendly staff. Would highly recommend

5.0/ 5

First, let me say I have dental anxiety and am not a big fan of going to the dentist BUT if you have to go this is the place. Dr Winterholler is very gentle and patient. The staff is friendly and always pleasant. I had implants done a couple of years ago and have been back for cleanings and adjustments and everyone there has been great. I would highly recommend Dr Winterholler and his staff for dental work.

What a wonderful experience!

5.0/ 5

If I can give 10 Stars to Dr. Chis Winterholler and his phenomenal Staff I would. I have been researching for a implant Dr who specializes in Ceramic Implants, not Titanium. I didn’t want metal in my mouth. I was also looking for a Dr. who did PRP Platelet- rich Plasma. It was hard to find an experience Dr. who had all the credentials that I was looking for until I meet Dr. Winterholler. I have a partial bridge that currently needs to be taken out. I didn’t want to wear a flipper in my mouth while I was healing, and I only needed a few implants. I wasn’t sure if this was at all possible? Dr. Winterholler sat down with me after taking digital x-rays and showed me on his screen how this can be done. His office has state of the art technology. He explained this is new technology and can definitely be done. He was very passionate on trying to help me. You can see how he loves helping his patients. His whole staff is very compassionate, happy and helpful. You can feel the good energy in there office and they are all very knowledgably!! Brea is the office manager who answers the phone. She is compassionate , knowledgeable and gets back to you right away with any question you may have?? I had my surgery yesterday. My son drove me there and meet Dr. Winterholler and his staff. He was very impressed how Dr. Winterholler explained to both of us in detail what to expect? I am very happy with the outcome, was able to get exactly what I wanted and to have a wonderful experience!! What a professional caring group of people. If I could I give them all 10 Stars, I would. That’s’ how Dr. Winterholler and his staff treated me.
