Dentistry has been in Dr. Green’s blood since a young age. Originally from Iowa City, IA, Dr. Green attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, receiving a B.A. degree in Biology, with a minor in Sports Medicine. He obtained his DDS from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry (where his mom has worked since 1972) in 1999 and has been practicing in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area ever since. Dr. Green’s experience and education set him apart from his peers, averaging 75+ hours of continuing education each year – five times the requirement for dentists for Minnesota. By taking the time to share his knowledge and address your questions and concerns, Dr. Green enables you to make informed decisions about the care you receive. At Imagine Smiles, we’re truly able to become your dental care partner.

Dr. Green maintains membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, and the American Academy of Ozonotherapy. He is a certified provider for Invisalign, ClearCorrect and Six Month Smiles orthodontic systems, and he has also received certification from the Esthetic Skin Institute for the placement of Botox. He is also a product evaluator for the prestigious CR Foundation, which tests the efficacy of new dental materials. He is a member of several peer review groups, has lectured nationally on advanced dental technology and has been an instructor for the CEREC restoration system. Dr. Green is proud to combine his loves of dentistry and sports medicine as the official dentist of the 3M Championship golf tournament each year.

In his free time, Dr. Green is an avid drummer and golfer. He enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, and kayaking during the summer months. In the winter, Dr. Green can often be found at one of the local ice arenas, skating as a certified USA Hockey referee.

Dental Implant

Because dental implants are made from biocompatible titanium and are surgically placed into the missing tooth’s socket, dental implants provide innumerable advantages that other tooth restoration options alone can’t, including the following:

  • They look and feel completely natural because they mimic the structure of natural teeth.
  • Implants stop the jawbone loss that occurs after you lose teeth, and your replacement teeth will provide support for facial muscles, helping you keep a more youthful appearance.
  • Dental implants are firmly integrated with the bone, so you won’t have to worry about your replacement teeth slipping or causing embarrassing situations.
  • Implants stand independent of your remaining healthy teeth, preserving them for longer.
  • With a success rate of 90% over 20 years and the potential to last a lifetime with proper care, dental implants have become the preferred alternative for people with missing teeth.

Indications for Dental Implants

Just as every patient is unique, dental implant treatment can be customized to fit your specific situation. Here are the different methods we use to restore your smile’s health, function, and beauty.

Missing Single Tooth

Dental implants replace the entire tooth from the root up, allowing you to regain its strength. The implants for a single tooth are topped with a customized dental crown.

Missing Multiple Teeth

With multiple lost teeth, you don’t have to have a dental implant for each one. If they are next to each other, Dr. Green can place a couple of posts and then attach an implant-retained bridge or partial denture to them.

Missing All Teeth

Even if you have lost all of your teeth, dental implants can help you. Strategically placing 4 to 6 dental implants, Dr. Green can stabilize your dentures so that you can bite, chew, speak, smile, and laugh with complete confidence.

Mini Dental Implants (MDI)

For patients who want to secure a loose denture but who aren’t candidates for traditional implants, Dr. Green offers Mini Dental Implants (MDI). Placing mini implants is a short, minimally invasive procedure that provides immediate results. Dr. Green can insert the implant posts to stabilize your denture or retrofit your existing denture in just one visit, returning comfortable function to the patient. Years of uncomfortable and unpredictable wear can be fixed in just a couple of hours and give you back a functional smile.
