Implants For Tooth Replacement :

Your teeth are meant to last a lifetime, but sometimes they don’t! Dental implants are designed to replace the root portion of the tooth with biocompatible materials intended to last a lifetime. Replacing missing teeth is important for your health overall and especially important for the health of your other teeth. Not only is chewing ability lost when a tooth is missing, but not replacing missing teeth can cause other teeth to be lost, tipped or crowded and create subsequent problems. Also, there are the obvious issues of poor appearance and loss of self-esteem caused by one or more missing teeth. Our practice works closely with several outstanding surgeons who place the implant. After placement, we will fabricate an implant crown to restore the tooth to its highest level of functionality and beauty.

Dental implants make for great replacement teeth. While titanium has been the most popular material used in implant dentistry, there is a newer alternative. Zirconia dental implants are a type of ceramic that provide long-lasting and effective replacements for the roots of teeth. Those who have sensitivities or allergies to metal make great candidates for zirconia.

Zirconia dental implants offer the same benefits as titanium ones. They are biocompatible with the jaw so that bone will fuse to its structure. Zirconia implants also thwart bone atrophy by keeping the jaw active. These replacement teeth make it possible to enjoy a variety of foods without discomfort or difficulty.

Benefits of dental implants :

The implants we provide are substitutes for the roots of missing teeth. They act as an anchor for a replacement tooth or crown or a set of replacement teeth. The first benefit is that dental implants restore the functionality and beauty of natural teeth. However, the confidence of having a beautiful, durable, functional smile is the greatest benefit.

Candidate for implants :

Our patients are all ages. Implants may be the right choice for anyone missing one or more teeth due to injury, disease or decay. Implants are especially practical for patients who can no longer wear removable dentures. Call today today to schedule a visit to see if dental implants might be the right solution for you.

 Kinds of implants :

There are many shapes, sizes and brands of implants available including titanium and zirconia (ceramic) implants. With a consultation we can make recommendations regarding the type of implant most appropriate for your particular situation.

Procedures time:

Treatment time for implants can vary depending on your needs but most of our patients are surprised at how quickly they can have a teeth replaced.

Q Why do I need ozone therapy at the dentist?

Ozone is a powerful antibacterial agent. Because most oral diseases – including cavities, abscesses and gum disease – are caused by oral bacteria, ozone can be a useful tool in eliminating any lingering bacteria in the vicinity before providing treatment, such as periodontal treatment or a composite filling. Ozone therapy offers a safe, gentle and non-toxic method to eradicate bacteria from the treatment area.

Q Are CEREC crowns as durable as a regular crown?

CEREC crowns are just as durable as traditional crowns, as long as the patient cares for them according to the instructions provided by the dentist. Not only do CEREC crowns last just as long as traditional dental crowns, but they also offer the ultimate convenience, allowing the patient to be fitted with a permanent crown in a single day. Furthermore, the ceramic materials used in CEREC crowns mimic the optical qualities of biological tooth enamel, giving these crowns a natural aesthetic.

Q What are the advantages of digital x rays vs traditional x rays?

Digital x-rays require much less radiation exposure for patients than traditional x-rays. While this is the primary benefit associated with this technology, digital x-rays also allow the dentist to manipulate the images to view them from different perspectives. The electronic files containing x-rays can also be easily transmitted to other specialists who may be involved in a patient’s care.

Q How can I minimize my exposure to toxic materials while maintaining my oral health?

From diagnostic tools to the materials used in treatment, the right technology can minimize toxicity associated with dental care. At Kozlow and Rowell Dentistry, we are diligent about using techniques and treatment methods that limit the use of potentially harmful treatments, such as fluoride, amalgam fillings, and excessive radiation exposure. We can also recommend products for home care that can help you to maintain a daily oral hygiene regimen that is as healthy and non-toxic as possible.

Q What is cosmetic dentistry?

Cosmetic dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on improving the smile’s aesthetics. The smile may not have an optimal appearance when teeth are stained or yellowed by age, or if they are not in good condition or not properly aligned. Cosmetic dentistry corrects such issues, using a variety of interventions to make the smile look as much like the ideal as possible.

Q What is a dental crown?

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is bonded on top of a biological tooth. Dental crowns may be used to restore the structure and appearance of a tooth that is damaged by extensive decay or due to some sort of trauma. CEREC dental crowns are made of ceramic materials that replicate the appearance of biological tooth enamel. Furthermore, CEREC crowns are created using an in-office milling unit, so the patient can be fitted with a crown in a single appointment.

Q What is a veneer?

Veneers are thin layers of porcelain shaped like the front surface of a tooth. Veneers are bonded to the tooth in order to hide various defects, including chips, cracks or stains. One of the most versatile tools available in cosmetic dentistry, veneers can also be used to make an undersized tooth look proportionate to its neighbors or to create the sense of a straighter appearance in a slightly crooked stretch of teeth. Veneers are customized to blend in with the rest of the patient’s smile in terms of shade and shape of the teeth. Veneers may also be used in combination with teeth whitening to improve on the color of the teeth if desired.

Q I have sensitive teeth, can I still whiten my teeth?

Some patients who undergo teeth whitening treatments complain of increased tooth sensitivity as a side effect of the treatment. This is particularly true in patients who have undergone multiple teeth whitening treatments. While pre-existing tooth sensitivity is of some concern, it doesn’t rule you out as a candidate for teeth whitening treatment. We will just be more aware of the need to include measures to prevent or reduce tooth sensitivity and incorporate those into the treatment plan.

Q Why should I go to the dentist regularly?

Seeing your dentist at least twice a year for checkups and cleanings results in a number of benefits. First of all, this routine care helps to keep your smile as clean as possible and minimize the presence of harmful oral bacteria. Furthermore, when your dentist is checking your smile at regular intervals, it’s much more likely that any oral diseases will be identified early in the disease process when treatments can be more conservative and effective.

Q How often should I brush and floss?

Patients should brush twice each day and floss daily. Remember that your technique matters, and if you’re not brushing or flossing effectively, you won’t get the maximum benefits from your oral hygiene practices. Make sure that each brushing session lasts for two minutes, and use a brush that is in good condition. Angle your brush along the gumline to disrupt plaque formation. Take the extra time to floss along the gumline, as well.

Q What if I have a dental emergency?

Dental emergencies can happen at any time and typically warrant immediate attention. Kozlow and Rowell Dentistry accept emergency appointments, and we will schedule you as soon as possible if you are experiencing severe toothache symptoms, damage to a tooth or some other urgent issue. Call our office to schedule an emergency appointment. If your dental emergency is occurring after hours and doesn’t rise to the level of requiring an emergency room visit, you can call our answering service to reach the on-call staff member who can give you guidance about how to proceed until you can be seen at our office.

Q How often should I have a cleaning?

Patients should have a professional tooth cleaning every six months. This care is necessary even if you are conscientious about your home oral hygiene routine. It’s nearly impossible to clean all of the surfaces of your teeth thoroughly on your own, and a hygienist can access some areas of your smile more easily than you can at home.

Best dentist and staff I've ever come across! 💞

5.0/ 5

Dr. Rowell is the kindest dentist I’ve ever met. This is the second time I’ve seen him on short notice and he has made time for me even though I didn’t have an appointment. On my first visit Dr. Rowell holistically removed and filled two silver molars that had been manipulated by a previous dentist. Today he was able to help me out with complications and concerns I had with a tooth removal surgery that was performed by another dentist. I absolutely love Dr. Rowell’s work ethics and trust him immensely! I highly recommend his services.
