Dr. Michael Baylin, a leader in providing Integrative Dental Services, attended Rutgers University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1966. After serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force, he joined his father in the practice of general dentistry.
Dr. Baylin has done extensive research and continued studies in a broad range of fields, including all areas of general and cosmetic dentistry, headaches and facial pain, dental and oral infections, mercury-free dentistry, biocompatible materials, safe mercury removal, homeopathy, physiologic dentistry, Autonomic Response Testing, bio-oxidative therapies, dental implants, laser therapies, advanced occlusal therapies, and natural medicine.
Patient dedication, a commitment to lifelong learning, technical excellence, and an early interest in prevention and minimally invasive dentistry is the foundation for Integrative Dentistry.
Many practitioners have been influential in developing Dr. Baylin’s whole body approach and integrative treatment philosophy; Dr. Baylin’s father and mentor, Dr. George J. Baylin, whose dedication to the dental profession and devotion to his patients built the foundation for Dr. Baylin’s passion for dentistry; Dr. Aelred Fonder, “The Dental Physician,” whose research verified the profound effect malocclusion and dental stress have on overall health; Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, who eloquently explained the dentist’s role in disease and dysfunction and provided an evaluation process (Autonomic Response Testing); Dr. Yoshiaki Omura, who developed the phenomenon of Direct Resonance and provided the framework for uncovering the underlying causes of pain, disease, and dysfunction; Dr. Dan Gole, who discovered the relationship of teeth to specific muscle trigger points and developed a technique for selectively adjusting teeth to treat pain and dysfunction; Dr. Harold Gelb, who pioneered the treatment of headaches and temporomandibular joint disorders; Dr. John Witzig and Dr. John Mew, who introduced the European concept of functional orthodontics and its effect on healthy growth and development; Dr. Hal Huggins who championed the modern movement to expose the dangers of mercury; and Dr. Weston Price, who extensive research validated both the relationship of dental infections to chronic illness and the effects of white flour, sugar, refined foods, and fats on dental disease, growth, and development. Dr. Baylin studies regularly with national and international physicians and dentists to incorporate advances in health research into his practice and life.
