Dr. Patrick J. Bannon grew up in the south western Chicago suburb of Lockport. He attended Northern Illinois University prior to receiving admission to Loyola University School of Dentistry, graduating with a D.D.S degree in 1972. After receiving his D.D.S. he completed the dental specialty program of Pediatric Dentistry.
While growing up as a young child Dr. Bannon was not fond of “going to see the dentist”. It was this dislike that set his ambition to becoming a dentist who would provide comfortable care dentistry. He sat up practice as a general dentist in 1978 in Downer Grove and remains in the very same location today.
Dr. Bannon has a passion for dentistry and learning as well as educating. He maintains membership in the following professional organizations: American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society , Academy of General Dentistry , Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry, International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology & International Association for Orthodontics.
This involvement allows him to continue to strive for excellence in a variety of dental areas. He frequently spends weekends traveling to enhance his knowledge and skill base so that he can serve his patients at the highest level. His hours of continuing education range between 150 to 250 hours.
His practice has been largely influenced by his own experience and his desire to share those insights with his patients and their family. He believes “the little things can make the big difference”. He plans to continue serving his patients as long as God permits.
In his spare time he enjoys his children, his dental team, and his many loyal patients. Occasionally a little skiing, cooking, yoga, Pilates, fishing, music, and even a little dancing sneaking into the picture.
In addition to being a Downers Grove general dentist, we also offer dental implants to those who are good candidates and who want an alternative to dentures. By replacing missing teeth, you protect neighboring teeth from shifting as well as ensure that you don’t suffer bone loss in the jaw. Dental implants are the closest alternative to your natural teeth and whether you need a single tooth replaced or are considering replacing multiple teeth with dental implants, Dr. Bannon would be happy to help you review dental implants or dentures as well as bridges to help you bridge that gap.

To manage this, there are a number of toothpastes, gels and even some dental procedures that can be applied. Speak to us in more detail if you have very sensitive teeth.
