Dr. Nickel graduated from Northwestern University and received his dental degree at Loyola University of Dentistry. He earned his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Nickel is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is board certified by the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology and a Past President of the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Nickel is currently a part-time clinical professor at Loyola University Medical Center. Prior to starting his private practice, he was Director of the four year Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Tripler Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has lectured all over the world on various aspects of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
