“This patient had missing teeth 2,3,5,12,13,14,15,19,20,21,29,30&31.
All The case was evaluated with Scanora 3DX CBCT and @3shape implant studio for individual and implant bridges restorations. The surgical guides were printed in @formlabs 3d printer. Versah burs were used to do the minimal invasive implant osteotomy and sinus elevation. The Touch @piezosurgerydental @mectron_dental was used with the periotome tips to the cut the periodontal ligament around the tooth #18 and be able to extracted in atraumatic form the teeth and eliminate the remaining periodontal ligament in the alveolar bone.
The plan was to place eight dental implants, however the area of #18 can not obtain a primary stability after tooth extraction and decide to bone graft. Seven (7) Ceramic ZERAMEX zirconia implants were placed and torqued to 35 Ncm on the upper and arches. Neogen Allograft @neossgmbh , Allobind @maxxeusdental Allograft, PRF membranes were placed for the additional onlay and sinus elevation bone augmentation. Neogen Collagen Firm M @neossgroup were anchor with apron technique with cover screws over the bone graft. The gum tissue was closed with primary intension with 4-0 nylon sutures.

Luis A. Alicea DMD, MSD
Dr. Luis A. Alicea was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He pursued studies at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Dentistry. He then completed his Masters Degree, and Prosthodontic residency at that campus, where he focused his training in the placement, and restoration of Dental Implants. He has taught as an Associate Professor in the Research, and Restorative Departments at the University of Puerto Rico, and continues to hold privileges as a professor Ad Honorem in that institution. Dr. Alicea also completed additional training towards certification as an IV Sedation provider, at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Dr. Alicea is a member of the Peer Review Committee for “The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants”, and regularly reviews articles prior to publication for this Journal. He is a also member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American College of Prosthodontics, Florida Prosthodontic Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, West Coast District Dental Association, Hillsborough County Dental Association, and also participates in the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Alicea has an undeniable passion, and dedication for the dental profession. He has been practicing in the Greater Tampa bay area since 2007. He likes to give back to the community and participates of Dentistry from the Heart events. He loves spending time with his wife, daughter and twin sons.
